Special Care & Career Services offers a host of volunteer opportunities for both businesses and individuals. Peruse the list below to find the opportunity that interests you most!

Continuing Support Advocate

Volunteers check in with our employed clients on the job site in order to observe the client’s performance over a 1-hour period, speak with the client’s supervisors, and report back to the agency via simple written form. These regular checks help ensure that our Supported Employment clients retain their jobs over the long term. Must be 21 years old to participate.

Fundraising

Volunteers participate in fundraising activities for the annual special event.  Activities include soliciting sponsors and underwriters for various aspects of the event and selling ads for the commemorative event program. It may also include soliciting in-kind gifts for various activities throughout the year.

Special Event

Volunteers assist with event activities, such as addressing envelopes, assembling invitations, stuffing envelopes, assembling sponsor packets, mailing materials, working the registration tables, working in the box office, greeting patrons, and assisting ushers.

Board of Trustees

Volunteer board members assist in fundraising, set policy, are responsible for governance, have the fiduciary responsibility for the organization, and act as goodwill ambassadors for the organization.

ECI Events

Volunteers assist with the annual Spring and Fall Early Childhood Intervention and alumni client parties.  Duties can be soliciting donations of food and drinks, organizing activities, decorating (and soliciting decorations), soliciting prizes, set up and clean up.

Clerical

Volunteers are needed sporadically to assist with large mailings, data entry, and other clerical duties.
