ARC of Dallas
The Arc of Dallas is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has worked to improve the quality of life for people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities since 1951. Our programs and services, which are offered in Collin, Dallas and Rockwall counties, include advocacy, information and referral, parent and professional education, public education and fun activities and classes.

Camp Summit
A United Way agency that is accredited by the American Camping Association, Camp Summit is designed for children, teenagers and adults with disabilities. Separate sessions are scheduled for specific ages and levels of functioning.

Community Homes for Adults, Inc. (CHAI)
A licensed assisted living provider, CHAI offers supervised group homes, supported employment, counseling for families and clients, and professional services away from the residence for adults with mental retardation.

Department of Assistive & Rehabilitative Services (DARS)
DARS is a centralized agency for programs formerly provided by the Texas Rehabilitation Comission (TRC), the Texas Commission for the Blind, the Texas Commission for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing, and the Interagency Council on Early Childhood Intervention. Developmental Screening Information
What is developmental screening? Developmental screening is a procedure designed to identify children who should receive more intensive assessment or diagnosis, for potential developmental delays. It can allow for earlier detection of delays and improve child health and well-being for identified children.
