The Alliance for Agency Executives Serving People with Disabilites

The Alliance of Agency Executives Serving People with Disabilities represents leading service providers to people with disabilities. Its mission is to provide a forum for networking, collaboration and education that will enhance executive performance and the quality of life for the people we serve in the Dallas Metroplex.  Agencies interested in joining this group should contact Howard Dahlka at afiled@sbcglobal.net. Its members and associates are listed below:

ARC of Dallas

The ARC of Dallas has been working to improve the lives of people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities since 1951. Our programs and services include advocacy, information and referral, and professional education, public education, and fun activities and classes.
 

Association for Independent Living (AFiL) 

To maximize the independence of young adults with disabilities, AFiL daily and independent living skills education and training in a supported residential environment.


Autism Treatment Center

The Autism Treatment Center provides residental, vocational, and educational services for people with autism spectrum disorders throughout their life span.


Bridges...from School to Work

This program, which is sponsored by the Marriott Foundation, helps young adults with disabilities to obtain competitive jobs.


Camp Summit, Inc.

The mission of Camp Summit is to provide barrier-free outdoor experiences that promote personal growth and foster independence for children and adults with disabilities.


Chase's Place School

We are a special-needs school providing educational services to children ages 5-14 who have a wide range of developmental delays.


Citizens Development Center

We exist to empower men and women with disabilities to achieve their highest level of employability.


Community Homes for Adults, Inc. (CHAI)

 Community Homes for Adults, Inc. (CHAI) is a non-sectarian, nonprofit corporation under Jewish auspices that provides programs and services to enable adults with cognitive disabilities to live full, rich lives in a safe environment and to meaningfully participate in the community.

We are committed to providing services to individuals in the least restrictive environment possible in order for them to realize their full potential and participate in the mainstream of life to the highest degree possible.

Our mission is to enable individuals with disabilities and other special needs to achieve their potential by fostering community inclusiveness and independence. 

Deaf Action Center

Our mission is to eliminate barriers for people with hearing loss.

Down Syndrome Guild of Dallas

We provide accurate and current information, resources, and support for people with Down syndrome, their families, and the community.

Equest Theraputic Horsemanship

Equest provides therapy with horses for children and adults with all types of disabilities and learning differences.

Helping Restore Ability

We provide in-home support to people with all types of disabilities, as well as some day habilitation programs and community support.

MOSAIC

We provide residential group homes, supported home living, vocational training, host homes (adult foster care), and in-home support. In partnership with people who have disabilities, our services are based on the core values of integrity, safety, respect, personal growth, stewardship, and community involvement.

North Texas Rehabilitation Services

Our mission is to provide vocational and day habilitation services to adults with mental retardation and other disabilities in the least restrictive manner and in areas of their choice.

Notre Dame School

Our mission is to offer a quality education to persons with mental disabilities and to maximize their integration into society.

REACH

Our mission is provide services for people with disabilities so that they are enabled to lead self-directed lives and to educate the general public about disability-related topics in order to promote a barrier-free community.

Reading & Radio Resource

We serve children and adults who are visually and physically disabled and/or learning differenced by transcribing print material to an audio format. We serve students who qualify for Special Education, ESC, or Section 504 services. We have a Recorded Books Program and a Reading Radio Service.

Sequoia, Inc.

Our mission is to provide community-based residential and supportive home living services that promote the independence, dignity, personal development, and community integration of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.


Special Care & Career Services
Our mission is to help people with disabilities achieve fulfilling and independent lives through two age-specific programs: Early Childhood Intervention, providing therapies to children from birth through age three; and Supported Employment Services for adults with cognitive disabilities.

United Cerebral Palsy of Metropolitan Dallas

Our mission is to advance the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
