New friends and long-time supporters of A Special Evening hosted by Alliance Data packed into Trader Vic’s on October 16 for the 2008 Kick-off Party to announce A Special Evening with Smokey Robinson, hosted by Alliance Data on May 5, 2008. Returning sponsors agreed that this kick-off exuded the best energy ever. More than 100 guests saluted 2008 Co-chairs Leigh Anne Haugh and Kristen Johnston and Honorary Chairs Sara and Glen Agritelley, mega-entrepreneurial owners of Mercy Wine Bar, T-BAR-M Tennis Ranch, and Sebastian’s Closet. Also introduced were Underwriting Chair Lauren Maggard and Raffle Co-chairs Mary Stoner Yost and J.R .Tomlinson.

Board member Kip Sowden and his wife Marinelle graciously sponsored and hosted the soirée.  Other SCCS celebrities sighted were past Special Evening Chairs Kate Rose Marquez and Nicole Kapioltas with Chad Cook; 2007 Sponsor Party Hosts Dan and Gail Cook; and Immediate Past Board President Jessie O’Brien. Karen Wald, V.P. of Corporate Marketing for Title Sponsor Alliance Data, echoed the crowd’s excitement in her anticipation of hosting Smokey Robinson in Dallas for the first time in more than a decade.
